Job Title: Superintendent - Heavy Civil/Highway

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead our heavy civil and highway construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roadway construction, earthwork, and heavy equipment operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Read, understand, and enforce safety policies and practices.
  • Read and understand plans, specifications, and local building codes.
  • Schedule and document all required inspections, quality testing, or other compliance requirements.
  • Complete daily reports, including units complete, safety reports, EEO meetings, and weekly unit cost worksheets.
  • Read and understand global project schedules and generate two-week construction schedules weekly.
  • Schedule and order materials, inspections, and manpower to meet project schedules and specifications.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules.
  • Confer with and direct personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job, including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.
  • Track delivery, use, and completion of rentals on the job.
  • Complete regular performance reviews for employees under their direction in a complete and timely manner.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years of roadway superintendent or Foreperson work experience leading heavy equipment crews.
  • A minimum of 10 years of work experience and understanding of all phases of roadway/highway construction.
  • A minimum of 10 years of roadway, earthwork, road widening type projects.
  • A minimum of 10 years of DOT roadway projects.
  • Education - four or more years related experience and/or training; or a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
