Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Nurse to join our team at WellSpan York Hospital. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the operating room, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other personnel to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Anticipate and plan for patient care in the operating room, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services.
  • Communicate effectively with families and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Update physician preference cards and maintain accurate records.
  • Scrub and assist physicians during surgical cases, demonstrating expertise in multi-specialty OR settings.
  • Supervise personnel delivering patient care, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
Requirements
  • Multi-specialty OR experience, with a strong background in ORTHO & ROBOTICS.
  • Level 1 Trauma experience, with the ability to care for critically ill patients.
  • Previous traveler experience, with a strong understanding of the demands of travel nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years OR experience, with a focus on critical care and patient safety.
  • BLS certification, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flu vaccine required, with a commitment to maintaining a healthy and safe work environment.
Work Schedule
  • Shift: Days - 4x 10 hour shifts, with flexibility to float as needed.
  • On-call: 4-6 calls within a 6-week schedule, with a 30-minute response requirement.
  • Weekends: 4-6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule, with flexibility to work day, evening, or night shifts.
Unit Specific Information

We are looking for an Operating Room Nurse with critical thinking skills and scientific judgment, who is a member of the surgical team and works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, ORTs, and other personnel.
