About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to support our operations within the United States. As a trusted business partner, you will provide expert legal advice to our management team, focusing on construction and engineering law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Guidance: Provide comprehensive legal support on matters impacting our business, particularly in relation to construction and engineering agreements, including EPC contracts, design agreements, EHS processes, labour agreements, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Document Management: Draft, review, and revise key legal documents that affect our daily operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and US legal requirements.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Investigate, respond to, and advise on regulatory matters involving state and federal actions like the NLRB, OSHA, and EEOC. Manage domestic employment matters, including litigation and claims, in collaboration with our Human Resources department.
  • Project & Policy Management: Lead and manage assigned legal projects, ensuring timely completion. Collaborate with other departments to interpret, defend, and enforce corporate policies and procedures.
  • Additional Duties: Engage in other legal matters as assigned, including environmental, intellectual property, and other commercial legal issues. Counsel senior management on legal processes and corporate risk management.

Requirements:

  • A qualified lawyer (Juris Doctor Degree) with at least 7 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US laws and regulations, especially those relevant to the construction industry.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the relevant state.
  • Experience in a similar role within a construction or engineering environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents.
  • Excellent knowledge of corporate governance and risk management practices.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise legal advisory and support to our General Counsel.
