As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will be responsible for processing prescription orders, performing drug utilization reviews, and providing patient counseling on medication use. The ideal candidate will have expertise in pharmaceutical services, excellent communication skills, and adaptability to changing procedures and patient needs.

The successful candidate will be able to process prescription orders in the IHS Electronic Health Record (EHR), ensuring completeness, appropriateness, dosing, and allergy checks. They will also counsel patients on the safe and effective use of medications, review patient profiles, monitor medication therapy, identify medication-related problems, and propose solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prescription Order Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of prescription orders, utilizing IHS EHR systems.
  • Drug Utilization Review: Conduct thorough reviews of medication therapies, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
  • Patient Counseling: Provide expert guidance to patients on medication use, emphasizing safety and efficacy.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy, as well as working knowledge of pharmacy computer systems. A strong analytical and problem-solving skillset is essential for this role.
