Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Supply Chain Intern. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for reviewing purchase requisitions, preparing purchase orders, and expediting deliveries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process purchase requisitions to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials
  • Prepare and forward purchase orders to vendors for approval
  • Communicate with vendors to negotiate prices and expedite deliveries
  • Investigate sources of supply to ensure lowest cost and acceptable quality standards
  • Maintain good relationships with vendors and their representatives
  • Negotiate with vendors for the return and/or replacement of rejected materials
  • Order raw materials and filters as requested by the Production Control department
  • Keep the Director of Purchasing informed of new materials and supplies that may be applicable to subsidiary operations
  • Assure that vendors are advised of pertinent information
  • Become familiar with applicable federal and state regulations, federal priority regulations, and other rules affecting purchases
  • Properly apply such information in the performance of job responsibilities
  • Complete paperwork as required, including price change reports, debit memos, and freight claim forms
Requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of purchasing procedures and regulations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
