The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist to join our team. This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule, occasionally requiring shift adjustments to accommodate patient needs.
Job Summary
The Physical Therapist will develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, focusing on maximizing their progress toward achieving functional goals. This role involves comprehensive patient care, including assessment, treatment planning, implementation, education, and communication with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, evaluate functional needs and outcomes, and collaborate with specialists/physicians.
- Review patients' functional needs and adjust care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Design and implement a personalized plan of care based on a thorough assessment of each patient's potential.
- Conduct therapy sessions within defined standards of care.
- Direct the assistance of support staff to achieve patients' functional goals.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement programs, safety protocols, environmental standards, and infection control guidelines.
- Document evaluations, treatment goals, and plans. Regularly update documentation.
- Contribute to professional growth through participation in educational programs, in-service meetings, workshops, and staying current with professional literature.
- Act as a resource to promote physical therapy within the community.
- Prepare and maintain equipment.
- Replenish and change supplies in assigned areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Skills Required
- Possess a valid state license to practice physical therapy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions and solve problems effectively.
- Thorough knowledge of third-party billing procedures.
- Proven ability to interact positively with personnel, patients, visitors, family members, physicians, and the public.
- General familiarity with various EHR systems, computer programs, and applications.
- Proficiency in operating office equipment.
- Experience handling paperwork, scanning, and uploading documents accurately.
Education and Experience
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Experience working with patients experiencing core muscle injuries is preferred.
