Position Overview
The Facilities Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing the performance of surface equipment at well sites. This position collaborates closely with operational teams to ensure the reliability and integrity of rotating machinery and surface facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with safety and production teams to enhance surface equipment performance, prioritizing personal and process safety.
- Investigate incidents of Loss of Containment (LOC), identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to mitigate future occurrences.
- Monitor and report on the reliability and efficiency of surface equipment.
- Manage vendor relationships, conducting KPI reviews and performance assessments as necessary.
- Support the team in achieving critical KPIs related to safety, production, reliability, and cost management.
- Develop and submit Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) proposals for facility modifications, ensuring economic justification.
- Conduct project reviews to assess performance against budget and outcomes, driving improvements for future projects.
- Participate in HAZOP studies and design reviews to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
- Engage in the Pre-Start Up Safety Review process and manage key cost categories.
- Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to optimize surface equipment performance.
- Assist procurement in managing vendor availability and cost efficiency.
- Develop processes to minimize downtime related to surface equipment issues.
- Oversee project expenditures and conduct post-job evaluations to understand variances from AFE and budget expectations.
- Contribute to root cause failure analysis for surface facilities and participate in field safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements and enhancing profitability.
- Proven ability to enhance safety performance through effective management practices.
- Experience in implementing technology solutions that improve safety and efficiency.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of success.
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams.
- Passion for innovation and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Willingness to spend time in the field to support operational staff.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this role typically ranges from $120,000 to $176,000 annually, with potential for a discretionary bonus based on performance. Additional benefits include healthcare, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company contributions, and generous paid time off policies.
