Garco Construction, Inc. is a leading general contractor with offices in Spokane and Tacoma, Washington. We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our team. As an Ironworker, you will play a critical role in assembling structural steel and placing rebar to ensure the safe and successful completion of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Raise, place, and unite grinders, columns, and structural steel members to form completed structures of frameworks.
• Signal other structural steel workers to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Force steel members into final position using crowbars, jacks, and hand tools.
• Align bolt holes for structural steel members with corresponding holes in previously placed steel pieces.
• Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of steel pieces using plumb bobs and levels.
• Bolt aligned members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place.
• Lay rebar as required for reinforcing before concrete pours.
• Perform welding tasks to secure steel in place.
• Transport steel and supplies to the work site.

Requirements

• Union membership is required.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable working with and operating heavy equipment, including Cat lines, cable systems, man-lifts, pneumatic hole punchers, and welding equipment.
