Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse at Christus Health is responsible for planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating the nursing plan of care provided by the nursing team. This position requires overall nursing care and functions in the ICU, providing services to patients of all ages in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care in the ICU setting, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex patient needs.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and nursing practice.
- Meet the physical and mental demands of the job, including standing, walking, and lifting patients as needed.
Requirements:
- One year of recent experience in ICU nursing, preferably in a med-surg setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Current Louisiana RN License and current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Work Schedule and Type:
Full-time position with a 12-week contract.
