Mental Health Therapist Position in Long Island

Family Service League Inc., a renowned social services agency, is seeking a qualified Counselor to join our esteemed Mental Health Clinic in Riverhead, Long Island. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals, families, and children.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake assessments to identify clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to adults, adolescents, and children with diverse mental health diagnoses, including substance use disorders.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with New York State Office of Mental Health regulations, utilizing electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Ensure seamless linkage and follow-up with clients during the stabilization period and beyond.
- Foster effective collaboration with external providers and collateral contacts to provide holistic care.
- Prioritize routine supervisions, team meetings, and training sessions to enhance professional growth and proficiency.
- Actively participate in treatment planning and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this challenging yet rewarding role, candidates must possess a Master's degree in Social Work and hold a valid LMSW, LMHC, or LMFT licensure. A minimum of one year of experience in a behavioral health setting, preferably within a clinic environment, is required. Familiarity with the DSM-5 and proficiency in behavioral/therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and adults are highly desirable. Additionally, strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records, are essential. A valid New York State driver's license and fluency in Spanish are also preferred.
