Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team at Dignity Health-Yavapai Regional Medical Center. As a Speech and Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in improving the quality of life of our patients by helping them to communicate effectively and safely eat and drink.

  1. Conduct assessments to determine a patient's ability to swallow safely and communicate effectively.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve swallowing and communication skills.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform modified barium swallow studies to determine a patient's ability to swallow safely.
  • Perform cognitive assessments to determine a patient's ability to make decisions for themselves, remember basic information, control their emotions, and interact appropriately with others.
  • Document all assessment results and work with physicians and other clinicians to develop a plan of care and track all treatments and patient progress.
  • Using exercises, modalities, and/or adaptive devices, work with patients to improve speech, memory, cognition, etc.
  • Educate the patient and families on these processes so they can make the best decisions for the patient.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Speech/Language Pathology program or related field.
  • Azizona Speech Language Pathology License.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
  • Computer skills.
