We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our urology clinic.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families in routine nursing situations under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or licensed provider.
- Assist physicians and registered nurses in the comfort, care, and treatment of patients.
- Perform a variety of semi-skilled nursing responsibilities, including administering IVs and medications, assisting with diagnostic procedures, and observing and recording patients' conditions and progress.
- Conduct daily inventory of medical equipment and supplies, and maintain exam/treatment rooms per infection control policies, standard clinic policies, and sectional protocols.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, including temperature, respirations, pulse, and blood pressure, and obtain patient measurements, to include height, weight, pain levels, and others in the electronic medical record.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
- Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Georgia.
- Current BLS certification required.
The physical demands of this position include lifting 75 lbs max, carrying of objects up to 35 lbs, occasional to frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), and exposure to blood-borne pathogen, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required, and use of personal protective equipment, including respirators.
