Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at National Jewish Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing patients for examination and obtain patient medical history by accurately taking vital signs and documenting the results.
  • Review medication lists and perform spirometry and/or other pre-appointment testing as needed.
  • Coordinate with other clinics to ensure quality patient experience and implement plans for each clinic to identify and anticipate potential flow problems.
  • Provide and document appropriate education to patients/families utilizing effective teaching skills and scripted teaches.
  • Perform routine blood drawing procedures, including venipuncture techniques, and report any adverse reactions to supervisors or nursing staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED and successful graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Program.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience as a Medical Assistant at National Jewish Health or one (1) year recent experience from a healthcare organization or medical office as a Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
