Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Military Youth Program Coordinator. This role is pivotal in enhancing the lives of children from military families through our specialized program.

Program Details: The Military Youth Program will be hosted at our local branch, focusing on the unique needs of military children.

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Branch Director.

Employment Status: Seasonal/Part-Time - 12 weeks, 4 hours per week (twice during the school year).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and facilitate the Military Youth Program for a group of eight elementary school-aged children.
  • Commit to completing the entire ten-week program.
  • Engage in the self-paced tutorial to fully understand the program's objectives and delivery methods.
  • Prepare comprehensive lesson plans based on the guidelines provided in the Military Youth Program Facilitator Guide.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Director to secure necessary resources, including healthy snacks in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Review student registration materials to gain insight into each child's background and family situation.
  • Create and maintain a detailed spreadsheet containing essential information and emergency contacts.
  • Prepare educational materials such as journals, folders, and place cards prior to the program's commencement.
  • Ensure a safe, organized, and clean environment for all program activities.
  • Complete all required documentation, including attendance and weekly reports, supply requests, and incident reports.
  • Address feedback and concerns in writing within 48 hours after consulting with the Branch Director.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to assess the effectiveness of the program and identify areas for improvement.
  • Incorporate the core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty into lesson plans and daily interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Branch Director to ensure the program's success.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with children in group settings is essential.

Job Type: Part-time

Compensation: $17 per hour

Schedule:

  • Mondays: 2:15 PM - 4:15 PM
  • Wednesdays: 1:15 PM - 3:15 PM

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years working with children (required).
