Job Title: Automation Specialist

QuEST Global Services Pte. Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering services firm, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing control systems for water and wastewater treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems in various platforms for water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Configure and test PLC data and IO networks.
  • Read and process engineering documents, including P&IDs, process design guidelines, Electrical Schematics, Communications Network Architecture, and engineering best practices guides.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams and proactively seek relevant details for programming deliverables.
  • Interpret and follow contract and customer specifications.
  • Contribute to the design of process controls strategies and documentation with operator and equipment safety in mind.
  • Manage budget, scope, and schedule, and report risks and opportunities to project managers in a timely manner.
  • Lead/coordinate/guide other automation programming resources for projects as needed.
  • Communicate in a formal, professional, and technical manner to various audiences.
  • Provide timely support for field service teams during commissioning, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Work with 3rd-party system integrators to coordinate plant design and operation as needed.
  • Establish, maintain, implement, and follow Veolia standard practices for programming.
  • Execute projects for a wide variety of Water Treatment Technologies, including Ion Exchange, Immersed and Pressurized Ultra Filtration, Membrane Bioreactors, Reverse Osmosis, Electro Deionization, Electrodialysis Reversal, Thermal, and Conventional.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Equivalent from an accredited University or College.
  • Two to five years' experience developing Rockwell-based PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs for process control.
  • Testing experience (simulation and/or field environment).
  • Experience interpreting process control documents.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to follow a set of procedures and standards, and extrapolate new concepts from established standards.
  • Knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to learn equipment and processes related to WTS products and systems, including but not limited to RO/ED, UF/MBR, Ion Exchange, Thermal, and Conventional technologies.
