We are seeking a dedicated Inpatient Pediatric Nurse to join our Float Pool team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a dynamic hospital environment.
As a key member of our nursing staff, you will deliver exceptional care to pediatric patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety while working closely with the medical team to enhance patient flow.
Key Qualifications- Experience in Intensive Care Units (ICU)
- Background in Pediatric Nursing
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and their families, considering biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual, and environmental factors in a systematic manner.
- Evaluate situations, foresee potential challenges, and monitor changes in patient conditions.
- Adjust and update care plans based on new insights and shifts in patient status, effectively communicating these updates to the healthcare team and documenting them appropriately.
- Engage in interdisciplinary rounds and patient care discussions, ensuring thorough documentation in medical records.
- Support patients and families in understanding and participating in their care plans as needed.
- Assess the learning needs and readiness of patients and families prior to providing education.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, families, visitors, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications and treatments promptly and document them accurately.
- Show a commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement to improve personal, team, and organizational performance.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving unit performance.
All employees at Texas Children's Hospital are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless an exemption for medical or religious reasons has been approved.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, an Associate’s degree, or a technical diploma in Nursing, with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program, or an Associate’s degree in a related field recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing for obtaining and maintaining an RN license.
- A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Current RN License issued by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse License Compact.
- Certification in CPR - Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, manage time and resources efficiently, and exhibit flexibility, along with strong critical thinking skills and knowledge of nursing processes.
