Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic will perform routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of production equipment at Newly Weds Foods. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, troubleshooting equipment issues, and collaborating with the production team to resolve any quality or safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair tasks to resolve equipment issues, using knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, and diagnostic techniques.
  • Collaborate with the production team to identify and address quality and safety concerns, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Document maintenance activities, including work orders, time cards, and equipment performance data, to monitor and improve equipment reliability.
  • Participate in overtime assignments and provide on-call coverage as needed to support production operations.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of production processes, equipment, and quality control procedures to ensure effective maintenance and repair activities.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in a maintenance technology field or equivalent education, experience, and training.
  • 1-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a maintenance or production role.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating with production staff and management to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA, and production needs, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods, with the physical stamina to lift up to 55 pounds and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting.
