Role Summary

In the role of Cost Accountant for the Americas, you will be essential in shaping financial practices that align with the company's strategic growth objectives. Collaborating closely with the Operations Accounting Manager and Operations Controller, you will enhance cost accounting functions and streamline processes to guarantee precise financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, evaluate, and sustain standard costs for both purchased and manufactured products across various facilities.
  • Examine manufacturing expenses, perform variance analyses, and ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
  • Prepare journal entries, conduct balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Identify areas for process enhancements and efficiency improvements.
  • Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and meticulous professional with a solid foundation in accounting and a keen interest in manufacturing operations. Strong analytical capabilities, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence are essential attributes. Effective communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment are crucial.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Active CPA or CPA candidate is advantageous

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in manufacturing or public accounting is preferred
  • Familiarity with SAP software is beneficial

Specialized Skills

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical thinking abilities
  • Experience with Hyperion and OneStream Software is a plus
