We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Della Infotech in Bay City, MI. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results, identifying normal and abnormal components of body fluids.
- Prepare and process blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions, conducting blood group, type, and compatibility tests.
- Process, read, and report cultures from various sources, as well as antibiotic sensitivities and other microbiology procedures.
- Ensure the operation of laboratory equipment, calibrating, completing preventive maintenance requirements, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Maintain laboratory supplies inventory, checking stock levels, anticipating needed supplies, and expediting orders.
- Conserve laboratory resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provide medical technology information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepare reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
- Work in compliance with all established QA/QI standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, protecting patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste, and other policies and protocols.
- Recognize problems, identify the cause, and implement solutions where appropriate.
- Orient and/or train new employees.
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related field, or an associate degree in medical technology or a related field.
- MT certification or certified within 18 months of hire or transfer.
