As a Medicare Medical Biller at Arkansas Surgical Hospital, your primary responsibility will be to manage and process Medicare billing, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Medicare billing regulations and be able to navigate complex reimbursement processes to secure timely payments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, reviewing, and submitting Medicare claims for services provided, adhering to Medicare guidelines and regulations.
  • Monitoring the status of Medicare claims, resolving billing issues, and resubmitting claims as needed to secure timely reimbursement.
  • Reviewing medical records and documentation to assign accurate codes and descriptions for Medicare billing, ensuring compliance with CMS guidelines.
  • Conducting follow-up with Medicare and SSI payers to track claim status, resolve denials, and secure payments.
  • Performing payment reconciliation, verifying EOBs, and managing adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensuring all billing documentation is complete and accurate, maintaining organized records for audit purposes.
  • Collaborating with healthcare providers and administrative staff to educate them on Medicare billing procedures and answer their billing-related inquiries.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D preferred.
  • Previous experience in Medicare billing is required; knowledge of SSI billing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Medicare regulations and guidelines is essential.
  • Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in billing and coding.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management.

Working Conditions:

This position requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to ten pounds. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, handling, and balancing 5 or more hours per day.

Sensory and communicative activities including hearing, seeing, and speaking to be able to carry out essential job functions.

Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, proximity to moving mechanical parts.

Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary.
