This recruitment offers a $10,000 Recruitment Incentive to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine. The Harborview Operating Rooms have an outstanding opportunity for a Surgical Technologist. The work schedule includes 24 hours per week and night shifts.

Position Highlights

Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist.


Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons.
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures.
  • Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety in a sterile environment.
  • Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization, and turnover of the Operating Room.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT Registered by the State of Washington as a Surgical Technologist, or licensed in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, or Physician.
