This recruitment offers a $10,000 Recruitment Incentive to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine. The Harborview Operating Rooms have an outstanding opportunity for a Surgical Technologist. The work schedule includes 24 hours per week and night shifts.
Position Highlights

- Utilize knowledge of operations of individual pieces of equipment and skillfully maintain instruments and supplies to meet the demands of the department.

Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons.
- Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures.
- Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety in a sterile environment.
- Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization, and turnover of the Operating Room.
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Completion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.
LEGAL REQUIREMENT Registered by the State of Washington as a Surgical Technologist, or licensed in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, or Physician.
