Overview:

Civil Engineering Specialist for Weapons Systems:
Bowhead is looking for a Civil Engineering Specialist to deliver engineering services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center. This role involves supporting various projects and initiatives within the organization.

Responsibilities encompass independent quality assurance for construction, technical evaluations, project scope formulation, field assessments, planning, drafting (using AutoCAD), cost analysis, conflict resolution, scheduling, design production, and facility condition evaluations.


Key Responsibilities:
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

Providing civil engineering expertise for project support.

Investigating standard construction practices across diverse global regions.

Offering insights on optimal representation of structures in Engineering Level Models (including materials and dimensions for roofs, floors, and walls, as well as layout designs).

Collaborating with a multi-service team to finalize selected parameters.

Partnering with model developers to execute necessary modifications and updates.

Exploring additional infrastructure methodologies and capabilities in various regions.

Assisting in model development for infrastructure analysis.

Documenting and presenting recommendations.

Qualifications:


A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited institution in an engineering, scientific, or technical field, ideally from an ABET accredited program.

Proficiency in civil engineering principles and practices.


Demonstrated experience with National Building Codes (IBC, IRC & related reference codes) and civil engineering sub-disciplines, including site development, minor structural work, earthworks, road construction, drainage, and utility management.

Preferred experience includes at least 5 years of practical knowledge with AutoCAD or SolidWorks, whether through education or professional practice.

Advanced degrees (Master's and/or PhD) in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program are highly preferred.

Possession of a Professional Engineer license or other relevant certifications and specialized training is highly desirable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The position is primarily office-based, involving sedentary work.

Fieldwork may present risks, including exposure to varying weather conditions, travel in small aircraft, and physical activities such as climbing or crawling.


SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level, with U.S. Citizenship required for this clearance.

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Capability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to twist, bend, and squat as needed.
