Position Overview
This role is under the supervision of the Deputy Clinical Director of the facility.

The selected candidate will lead the Podiatry department, delivering surgical care services to patients while managing the administrative functions necessary for an effective podiatry clinic.

Incentives
Recruitment incentives may be authorized, contingent upon a service agreement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Podiatry division, ensuring efficient supervisory, managerial, and administrative operations.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments, interpret findings, perform examinations, establish diagnoses, and execute podiatric medical and surgical interventions. Prescribe medications and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Formulate standard operating procedures for the podiatry department, ensure compliance with the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP), and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training and guidance to subordinate staff, plan work assignments, and enhance productivity.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree and have successfully passed the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners (NBPME) or the American Podiatric Medical Licensing Exam (APMLE). A full unrestricted license to practice podiatric medicine in a relevant jurisdiction is also required.

Experience Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, involving diagnostic testing, surgical procedures, and supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Information
Compliance with immunization requirements and successful completion of a background investigation are mandatory for this position. The selected individual must also maintain clinical privileges and licensure throughout their employment.
