About the Role

Garver's Transportation Design Center is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Engineer to join our team in Frisco, TX. As a key member of our in-house engineering team, you will provide technical expertise in bridge design and structural projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and load rating of simple and/or continuous span prestressed bridges
  • Design and load rating of simple and/or continuous span steel bridges
  • Design of retaining wall and sign support structures
  • Bridge repair/rehabilitation design

As you gain experience, you will have opportunities to take on increased discipline lead or project management responsibilities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET program
  • 2 - 5 years of experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office
  • Registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Design and detailing experience with prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, and structural steel
  • Experience with MicroStation, structural analysis and design software
Preferred Skills
  • Master's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program with structural emphasis
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Familiarity with the American Association of Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Bridge Design Specifications
  • Familiarity with TxDOT standards and manuals
  • Experience in planning and design for bridges
