About the Position

The City of Claremont is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team in the Development Review and Plan Check department. As an Assistant/Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing development reviews, engineering plan checks, infrastructure design, utility permitting oversight, and field support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing development reviews and engineering plan checks
  • Design and develop infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities
  • Oversee utility permitting and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Provide field support and inspections for public works projects
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Two years of experience in development review and plan check, design, construction, and contract management of public works
  • Possession of an Engineering-In-Training Certificate from the State of California (desirable)
  • Valid California Driver's License and good driving record
