Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mill Team Member to join our team at Winland Foods. As a key member of our pasta manufacturing operation, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of our semolina products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control the quality of incoming wheat raw materials to meet American Italian Pasta Co. specifications.
  • Operate and maintain the milling process to produce high-quality semolina products.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth production and meet production requirements.
  • Conduct daily quality checks and make adjustments as needed to maintain product quality.
  • Direct blends of semolina and clear flours to pasta operations or load-out facility.
  • Participate in performance of regular preventative maintenance activities to ensure peak mill performance.
Requirements
  • Milling skills and knowledge gained through technical school training, completion of a four-year milling science college program, and/or actual milling experience.
  • Ability to utilize computerized data and laboratory results to make decisions relative to the necessary adjustments that must be made in order to produce the desired quality of mill products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various departments and levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk 90% of the shift, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance on a frequent basis, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and periodically lift 100 pounds.
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is generally in the 70 – 80 decibel range. Temperatures will reach high levels in the work environment.
