MRI Technologist Weekender

The MRI Technologist I performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. This includes operating MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radiologic technology and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring and questioning orders to the Radiologist as necessary.
- Properly identify patients using two patient identifiers and assist patients while offering a brief explanation of the procedures.
- Interview patients for a complete medical history, reviewing in-patients, ER, and outpatients EMR's to obtain pertinent clinical history.
- Assume responsibility for the exam from beginning to completion, preparing and administering IV contrast according to departmental protocols.
- Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist if needed, recognizing abnormal anatomy and processing additional images as instructed.
- Perform basic patient care functions, informing nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiating life support measures when necessary.
- Perform MRI scanning and assist Physicians/PA during invasive procedures, practicing proper sterile technique and adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or active enrollment in a ARMRIT or ARRT registry eligible program.
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, ARRT or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine with advanced registry from the ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI required within one year of hire.
- CPR certification required.
