POSITION SUMMARY:

The Culture Keeper plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and orderly educational environment. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring student compliance with established policies and fostering positive relationships within the school community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage daily activities on the school campus, ensuring a secure atmosphere for students and staff.
  • Monitor common areas such as lunchrooms, hallways, and restrooms to promote safety and compliance with school regulations.
  • Respond to incidents involving student behavior, providing appropriate interventions and documenting occurrences as necessary.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to mediate conflicts among students and provide guidance on behavioral expectations.
  • Enforce school policies and regulations to safeguard the well-being of all individuals on campus.
  • Conduct regular checks for unauthorized individuals and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
  • Assist in the investigation of potential violations, including searches for prohibited items in accordance with district policies.
  • Foster positive interactions with students, parents, and staff to enhance community relations and support school initiatives.
  • Utilize communication devices to coordinate with school administration and other personnel.
  • Administer first aid when required and maintain accurate records of incidents and responses.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the school.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must demonstrate relevant experience and skills necessary to fulfill the essential functions of this role. A high school diploma, along with three years of related experience, is required. Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly are essential.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Understanding of effective supervision techniques for individuals and groups.
  • Knowledge of maintaining a safe school environment.
  • Awareness of adolescent behavior and emotional development.
  • Strong communication skills, characterized by patience and courtesy.
  • Familiarity with district policies related to student conduct and safety.
  • First aid and emergency response techniques.

ABILITY TO:

  • Effectively supervise and monitor student activities.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and regulations.
  • Interpret and apply relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Assess situations accurately and determine appropriate actions.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation.
  • Respond to emergencies with composure and efficiency.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires working in a dynamic school environment, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions and the need to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry objects, as well as the capacity to remain alert and responsive throughout the workday.
