Adventist Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Portland, Oregon.

Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you will be responsible for facilitating the performance of invasive and therapeutic procedures. As a Surgical Technologist, you will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures, ensuring quality patient care and maintaining a sterile field.

Responsibilities
  • Verify surgery to be performed with consent forms and bring patients to assigned operating rooms.
  • Pass instruments to surgeons during procedures, anticipating their needs for additional supplies.
  • Perform appropriate counts with circulators prior to operations and before incision closures.
  • Prepare sterile dressings and secure them after incision closures.
  • Check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures, obtaining sterile and unsterile items as required.
  • Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization, assisting in the cleaning of rooms for turnovers.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology.
  • Relevant acute care experience is preferred.
  • National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certification is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification is required.
