As a Family Law Attorney, you will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, working closely with clients to navigate the complexities of family law, and advocating on their behalf in court.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, support, adoption, and domestic violence.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, contracts, judgments, and court orders while being supervised by a partner or senior attorney.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in family law.
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients, guiding them through each step of the legal process.
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in court hearings and trials.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to ensure comprehensive case management.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, ensuring they are informed and supported throughout their case.
  • Must be comfortable with litigation and court appearances.
  • Be familiar or become familiar with each county's Local Rules.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law.
  • Strong understanding of family law procedures, statutes, and case law.
  • Excellent negotiation, litigation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
  • Compassionate and client-focused, with a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Must be a member of the NC State Bar in good standing.
  • Notary Public is a plus but not required.
