Job Summary:

Sysco is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on our vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable transportation of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct FAI/CVI inspections on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and converter dollies, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and converter dollies.
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with refrigeration units, lift-gates, and other equipment.
  • Address all Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Perform moderate supervisory roles when the Fleet Manager or Fleet Supervisors are not available.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current and valid driver's license (CDL preferred, but not required).
  • Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training or 2-year school and 4 years of experience, or 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
  • ASE certifications and Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks.
  • EPA section 608 (Core & Type II) and 609 HVAC & Refrigeration Certification.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines.
  • Occasionally work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Occasionally work in confined spaces and high places.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
