Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Plan and implement a culturally sensitive educational program that meets the unique needs of each child, aged 0-24 months.
  • Lesson Planning: Create daily lesson plans that promote cognitive, verbal, social, emotional, and physical development, aligned with our approved curriculum.
  • Assessment and Documentation: Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate documentation of each child's progress.
  • Classroom Environment: Establish a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment that encourages exploration and play.
  • Health and Safety: Conduct daily health checks, plan activities promoting healthy lifestyles, and follow established protocols for medical emergencies and medication administration.
  • Nutrition and Mealtime: Assist with meal preparation, encourage proper eating habits, and promote socialization during mealtime.
  • Family Partnerships: Communicate effectively with parents, attend parent-teacher conferences, and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; DCF 45-hour training and National CDA certification preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in early childhood education, preferably in a child care setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Certifications: DCF Staff Credential, Infant & Child First Aid and CPR certification, and Protecting God's Children (PGC) workshop completion.
