The position entails the creation of educational programs, conducting research to gather the latest information on relevant topics, and delivering training to specific groups. This includes both theoretical instruction and practical clinical experiences. The effectiveness of these educational programs will be evaluated through analysis of participation, feedback, and assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in workshops aimed at the professional growth of clinic staff.
  • Provide orientation and other educational programs for staff at all levels.
  • Supervise and guide the learning experiences of staff involved in educational initiatives.
  • Serve as a role model for nursing, medical assistants, and healthcare office personnel by exemplifying professional conduct.
  • Engage in and deliver accredited continuing education programs to enhance professional skills.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports and maintain records of participant engagement in educational activities.
  • Uphold the human and civil rights of patients, clients, and staff.
  • May contribute to committees and assist in recruitment efforts.
  • Perform related duties as required, with flexibility to work evenings or weekends based on organizational educational needs.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: An Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required, while a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: A current RN license in New Mexico and BLS certification from the American Heart Association are mandatory.

SKILLS:

  • Advanced understanding of quality and safety initiatives, regulations, and data management.
  • Extensive knowledge of outpatient clinic operations and best practices.
  • Proficient in teaching, coaching, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Basic leadership capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality in sensitive matters.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions accurately.
  • Experience in training related to clinical documentation.
  • Familiarity with outpatient practice management.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years of clinical experience, with at least one year in a leadership or educational capacity (such as lead or charge nurse) is preferred. Experience in analytics and research for at least one year is also preferred.

NATURE OF SUPERVISION:

Reports directly to the Director of Ambulatory Patient Care.

ENVIRONMENT:

May involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens if engaged in clinical contact. The work environment is clean, well-lit, and smoke-free.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The role requires intermittent physical activity, including walking, standing, and sitting, as well as tasks related to patient care. Occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling may be necessary, along with moving educational materials and equipment as needed for training sessions. Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
