District Chef

About the Job:

The Nutrition Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced District Chef to oversee and manage the daily operations of a local K-12 School District Food Service Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality food production and service, while maintaining a strong emphasis on culinary skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of food production and service, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
Assist the Food Service Director in developing and implementing effective training programs for staff, ensuring compliance with USDA and Department of Education regulations.
Collaborate with the Regional Manager to ensure the effective operating performance of the school district's food service operation, including financial results and accountability.
Develop and maintain accurate production records, ensuring compliance with USDA and Department of Education regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that all students, staff, and visitors receive high-quality food and service.

Requirements:

Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or related field, Bachelor's degree preferred.
1-2 years of experience in staff management, food service experience a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to obtain clearances and pass criminal background checks.
