Electrical Systems Engineer

Körber is a leading provider of innovative products and solutions in mail and parcel logistics and automation. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical layouts, schematics, and installation details to support the control and system functionality of material handling systems (MHS) and products.
  • Interpret specifications and understand electrical design code regulations (National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Agency, etc.) for material handling systems.
  • Produce reports on project progress and other details for managerial staff.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for the manufacturing and installation of electrical systems and components.
  • Ensure electrical deliverable requirements (design drawings, purchase requisitions, technical content, etc.) adhere to the project schedule.
  • Support the first article's tests of electrical control panels and subsystem testing.
  • Support electrical installation quote documentation (RFQ) development.
  • Design and specify cable and wire size, overload, transformer and power supply, and programmable logic controller (PLC) components.
  • Provide technical guidance during electrical installation activities.
Requirements:
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Material handling systems electrical design experience and at least 5+ years of experience in machinery control systems and electrical panel design.
  • Adept in CAD drafting tools, such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Strong knowledge of North American Standards: NFPA, NEC, UL/cUL, CSA & International, and European Standard IEC/CE.
  • Experienced in electrical hardware design, and electrical parts selection (not electronics).
  • Experience with PLC hardware and network communication design, Ethernet IP, ProfitNet, Profibus, etc.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and focus on project schedules.
  • Team player with the ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with coworkers and team members.
  • Leadership and creativity.
  • Customer orientation by engaging customers and responsiveness to customer requirements to benefit and generate business for Körber.
  • Hands-on experience using design and calculation software.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
