Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to strict protocols.
• Utilize advanced suture techniques to aid in wound closure, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of human anatomy to assist effectively during surgeries, collaborating with healthcare professionals to achieve successful outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation, adhering to regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals in various settings, including Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Pediatrics, and Intensive Care Units (ICU), to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize medical terminology proficiently during interactions with the healthcare team, ensuring clear and effective communication.
• Implement aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile surgical environment, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.

Requirements:

• Certification as a Surgical Technician.
• Previous experience in an operating room setting.
• Proficiency in suture techniques and wound closure.
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy to assist effectively during surgeries.
• Familiarity with medical records management and documentation.
• Experience working in Ambulatory Surgery Centers, or ICU settings is advantageous.
• Proficient in medical terminology for clear communication within the healthcare team.
• Ability to maintain a sterile field using aseptic techniques.
