We are seeking a skilled Exercise Instructor to join our Wellness Programs team at Foxdale Village, a Quaker-directed, non-profit continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in State College, PA.
Job SummaryThe Exercise Instructor will assist and lead programs for residents that promote health and wellness using the wellness center, in personal care, and in skilled care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide instruction on the proper use of equipment
- Supervise activities, emphasizing safety and well-being
- Assist with promoting health and wellness activities, communication of program changes, and related tasks
- Lead a variety of exercise classes for residents in different levels of care
- Clean and maintain exercise equipment
- Follow a biomechanically correct exercise program designed for Foxdale Village residents
- Participate in pool supervision and complete chemical checks for safe swimming
- Keep records of attendance, safety checks, and related tasks
- Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology or related field (preferred)
- One year of experience planning and leading exercise programs with adults/older adults (preferred)
- Effective communication in English
- Proficiency in word-processing skills
- Personal Trainer Certification (preferred but not required)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
