Job Title:
Principal, Middle School

Under general supervision, this role acts as the instructional and strategic leader for the institution; offers educational and professional guidance to faculty and staff; oversees all aspects of a Middle School, including educational leadership, curriculum execution, instructional oversight, facility management, and financial administration; ensures adherence to state and federal regulations.


Key Responsibilities:
The following tasks are representative of this position.

Responsibilities will align with the implementation of the Strategic Plan and Aligned Management System. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Directs and evaluates the application of the school system curriculum as mandated by the Georgia Department of Education and district initiatives through classroom observations, grade level and departmental meetings, scheduling, and other related activities.
  • Articulates organizational goals and objectives to stakeholders.
  • Plans for student achievement; assesses staff and program effectiveness through data analysis and various assessment methods.
  • Attracts, trains, and retains highly qualified personnel.
  • Facilitates interpersonal communications, including, but not limited to, conflict resolution with students, parents, and staff.
  • Oversees financial management, resources, and facility maintenance.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in Education, Educational Administration, or a closely related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of teaching or educational experience is required, along with at least 3 years of administrative leadership experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • A valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate in educational leadership at level L-5, NL-5, PL-6 or higher is required. If not held, the individual must be eligible for the NPL certificate in educational leadership.
