Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver Physical Therapy services to residents under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, adhering to state regulations.
- Assist the Physical Therapist in evaluating residents' self-care, homemaking, functional mobility, and coordination.
- Identify indications for and assist in evaluations at appropriate intervals as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Conduct both individual and group therapy sessions as assigned, focusing on activities of daily living (ADL), functional mobility, range of motion (ROM), strength, coordination, cognitive/perceptual remediation, and functional maintenance.
- Assist in selecting appropriate Physical Therapy techniques and adapt them based on resident performance, following consultation with the Physical Therapist.
- Maintain acceptable resident care ratios as determined by the Physical Therapist.
- Provide treatment in accordance with established standards of practice and departmental procedures.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in evaluating, planning, implementing, and following up on resident therapy programs.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement programs as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of the National Certification for Physical Therapist Assistants.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
- 0-3 years of experience in long-term care settings.
