Job Title: Dosimetrist, Oncology Radiology

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Dosimetrist to join our team at DHR Health. As a Dosimetrist, you will play a critical role in the radiation treatment planning process, working closely with our Radiation Oncologists and Radiation Therapists to ensure accurate and effective treatment delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in localization procedures using CT or conventional radiographic techniques.
  • Obtain patient contours and assist in outlining anatomical structures and the target volume in three dimensions.
  • Discuss treatment plans with physicians, including planned tumor dose and maximum acceptable doses to normal tissue.
  • Generate isodose distributions via computer and perform calculations for accurate delivery of prescribed dose.
  • Prepare treatment aids and beam modifying devices, including head holders, molds, shields, cradles, compensators, and others as needed.
  • Participate in continuing education in the area of current treatment planning techniques and advances in medical dosimetry.

Requirements:

  • Be in an Accredited Medical Dosimetry Program.
  • Be a Certified Radiation Therapist.
  • Five (5) years experience in Radiation Therapy required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English required.

Working Conditions:

The individual spends over 95% of their time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

Aptitudes:

High aptitudes in general learning ability, verbal ability, numerical ability, spatial ability, form perception, clerical perception, motor coordination, finger dexterity, manual dexterity, eye-hand-foot coordination, and color discrimination are required for this position.

Age Specific:

Employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in their assigned unit.
