Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Type: Full-time

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Boulder Centre for Orthopedics and Spine. As a COTA, you will work closely with our occupational therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitative services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify client information and review medical history to confirm treatment purposes.
  • Assist with patient education and training on treatment plans and adaptive equipment.
  • Follow treatment plans developed with an occupational therapist, teaching techniques and ensuring activities are performed correctly.
  • Maintain patient occupational therapy records by documenting client progress for the occupational therapist.
  • Support occupational therapists in assessments and patient follow-ups.
  • Record billing information for services rendered.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
  • Inventory and manage supplies, placing orders and verifying receipt as needed.
  • Monitor therapy equipment safety.
  • Uphold professional standards, policies, and legal requirements to protect the occupational therapy practice.
  • Update job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, personal networks, and involvement in professional organizations.
  • Enhance the practice's reputation by taking ownership of new tasks and seeking opportunities to add value.
  • Comply with the organization's policies, procedures, code of conduct, and mission, values, and vision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited OTA program with a passing mark on the exam administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a healthcare setting, preferably in an orthopedic or rehabilitation environment.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Active licensure as a COTA in the State of Colorado required.
    • Current BLS or certification within 3 months of hire.

Work Environment:

  • This position works in a patient physical therapy gym within an orthopedic practice.

Physical Requirements:

  • The position requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving continuously during working hours.
