We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Waterbury Hospital. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and process patient specimens using various techniques and equipment.
- Accurately label and store specimens, adhering to laboratory protocols and standards.
- Perform venipunctures at offsite facilities and transport specimens back to the laboratory for testing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, disposing of bio-hazardous materials properly.
- Stay up-to-date on advances in laboratory services and participate in continuing education to maintain professional development and competency.
- Basic computer skills and ability to access hospital procedures.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods, with occasional bending and light lifting.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with patients and staff with tact and confidentiality.
- Current BLS certification and high school degree required.
