About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Plasma Collection Specialist to join our team at CSL Plasma. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping, and storage of plasma collected from donors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect plasma samples and move plasma units to freezer to ensure product quality.
  • Ensure plasma units are properly stored according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which may include unsuitable plasma units and samples.
  • Verify the accuracy of unit labeling by matching the pre-printed label with the dynamic label.
  • Utilize sterile technique to draw samples and use a heat sealer to ensure the sterility and quality of plasma unit samples per SOPs.
  • May be responsible for packing and shipping samples and units in accordance with SOPs and center procedures.
  • Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct daily calibration of equipment according to SOPs.
  • Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the SOPs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) months experience in a laboratory or warehouse environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Working Conditions

This role requires occasional standing and walking up to 100% of the time, reaching, bending, kneeling, and high manual dexterity. You will be frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required for specific tasks or in certain areas.
