Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at the City of Lake Wales. As a Police Patrol Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol designated areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls, investigate crimes, and provide assistance to the public.
  • Conduct traffic stops, issue citations, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to build relationships and address public safety concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest law enforcement techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver's license required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and polygraph examination.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and move heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Fluency in a second language preferred.
  • Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and protocols preferred.
