Position Overview:

Harrisonburg City Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Secondary Math Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching mathematics to students in grades 9-12, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teach mathematics to students in grades 9-12
  2. Plan and implement daily written lesson plans
  3. Evaluate student learning and revise instruction accordingly
  4. Maintain appropriate expectations for all students
  5. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field
  • Valid Virginia Collegiate Professional license or eligible for licensure
  • Possess outstanding knowledge and skill in the assigned instructional area
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and the learning process
  • Proficiency in public speaking and written communication
