Job Overview

Goodwill Industries Of Greater New York seeks a dedicated professional to fill the role of Clubhouse Generalist/Culinary Wellness, playing a pivotal part in providing psychosocial rehabilitation services to adults with psychiatric disabilities and co-occurring substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engage & assist Clubhouse members in reaching their recovery goals by providing person-centered supports.
  2. Coordinate aspects integral to the operation of the Clubhouse, including meal planning & preparation, Intake, employment, program cleanliness, and accurate record keeping.
  3. Oversee assigned Clubhouse unit & develop methods to enhance unit functioning, engaging members and working side by side with them to carry out unit tasks, facilitating community/unit meetings daily.
  4. Manage member case records and documentation via the electronic health files, securing private health information.
  5. Engage members through outreach & encouragement, focusing on their strengths or abilities, establishing working relationships within the Clubhouse community.
  6. Connect members to community resources to meet individual needs, such as employment, housing, benefits, and treatment.
  7. Coordinate and deliver opportunities for social and recreational activities.
  8. Work cooperatively with staff &members in developing Clubhouse policies and advancing the purposes and welfare of the Clubhouse as a whole.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required. Bachelor degree from an accredited school in related field preferred.
  • Work experience in mental health or vocational rehabilitation preferred.
  • Aptitude for computers and thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to effectively carry out responsibilities in a communal setting comprised of people experiencing the effects of mental illness.
  • Capability and flexibility to handle and juggle multiplicity of activities and demands occurring in the group setting.
  • Convey vibrant energy that attracts members and enables engagement.
