The Respiratory Care Practitioner at 22nd Century Technologies is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality respiratory care to patients. This role requires the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients assigned to their care. The RCP will utilize the Relationship Based Care Model and the four C's of the Way to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. The ideal candidate will have 6 months post-graduate acute care experience and pediatric/neonatal experience is preferred. The RCP will be responsible for providing culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethical care within legal standards of practice. They will also act as a liaison in coordinating patient care activities with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals. The RCP will utilize effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills to facilitate safe patient hand-offs. The required licenses and/or certificates for this role include a current Respiratory Care Practitioner License by the state of California, CRT, RRT, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification. The Respiratory Care Practitioner will work in a standard shift (Monday-Friday) and will be responsible for providing care that is consistent with the interdisciplinary plan of care and grounded in the principles of Relationship Based Care. They will also explain the respiratory treatment to the patient and family and educate them on how to care for the respiratory needs of the patient. The RCP will demonstrate a current working knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications. They will evaluate the effectiveness of the respiratory care treatments and modalities through observation of the patient's physical condition and behavior, signs and symptoms of illness, and reactions to treatment. The RCP will also act as the patient advocate as circumstances require by initiating action to improve healthcare or to change decisions or activities that are against the wishes of the patient. The Respiratory Care Practitioner will provide care according to the specific physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient. They will support the mission, vision, values, and expectations of excellence of the organization.
