Job Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned Histologist to lead our team and oversee the processing and preparation of patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in histology, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to train and mentor staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare high-quality microscopic slides, including embedding, microtomy, and mounting.
- Accession specimens and perform data entry.
- Conduct routine and non-routine slide preparation for pathologist evaluation.
- Serve as a departmental Subject Matter Expert (SME) and train new and existing employees.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree with HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification.
- 6+ years of clinical lab experience, preferably in molecular diagnostics.
- Proficiency in cutting and mounting tissue sections, including needle biopsies.
- Familiarity with histology equipment and continuing education requirements.
