Counselor, BGC

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Counselor to join our team at the Boys and Girls Club. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing recreational and cultural activities for children and adults in our community centers and summer camps.

• Plan, organize, and supervise recreational and cultural activities, including sports, arts and crafts, dancing, and music appreciation.
• Develop and implement programs to promote physical and emotional well-being, social skills, and academic achievement.
• Provide guidance, direction, and motivation to participants, and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
• Collaborate with other staff members and community agencies to identify and meet the needs of program participants and their families.
• Prepare and submit reports to management on program activities, attendance, and participant progress.

• Two years of formal post-high school training or education, and two years of experience leading or teaching classes or groups in recreational and cultural areas.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including children, adults, and families.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely records, and to provide excellent customer service.
