Job OverviewPosition Summary

Sign-On Incentive: $6,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts high and moderate complexity testing under limited supervision.
  • Assists with laboratory operational tasks.

General Expectations

  • Completes additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Adheres to all institutional policies and standards.
  • For detailed tasks and obligations, consult the documentation provided during orientation.
  • Must comply with all regulations to securely manage Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Annual training, the University Hospitals Code of Conduct, and relevant policies are established to ensure appropriate PHI usage in the workplace.
Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in biological or chemical sciences is required.
  • Compliance with CLIA '88 standards for high complexity testing is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited MT/MLT program is preferred.

Professional Experience

  • Prior laboratory experience is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication and organizational abilities are required.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously is required.
  • Presentation and conflict resolution skills are necessary.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently is required.
  • Adaptability and flexibility are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, is required.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Professional is required.

Licensure and Certification

  • Certification as a Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician (MT/MLT-ASCP) or equivalent is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Regular lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling of up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing and balancing.
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Constantly requires hand-eye coordination and sensory engagement.
